Bare feet sinking into the soft mud of the riverbank, Erin Wright of Dancer Vs. Politician draws her bow across the viola. Against the backdrop of the slow-moving river and verdant summer woods, Wright and her female bandmates appear as Athens’ answer to Homer’s sirens, their song as soft and beguiling as the mellow warmth of the August evening.
The video is simple and organic, a nice change from the expected big-budget music videos that have populated MTV, since, well, it started. Produced by Jason Miller and Ethan Payne, it is one episode in a project they call Athens Soundies …
